I just wanted to holler and thank you for this colour scheme, and to say that I am using it successfully in a 256-colour environment. It prompted me to do a complete overhaul of my graphical terminal colours after many years of the same 8/16-colour theme. I’ve simply never bothered with 256 colours because they always seemed to be lacking something somewhere. But Molokai is one hell of a job — it appears our tastes match

Finally I found a Monokai like theme, thanks for making it available. However, I am having troubles adding it to the my ~/.vimrc.

I have tried the following and different version of the conf. below:
set t_C0=256
let g:molokai_original = 1

which is the correct way of doing it?

Thanks Max. I found out you can also do it at the command line in Win7. Needed .RHistory file for the R statistical package. First I named it with the .txt extension, then at the command line:
ren .Rhistory.txt .RHistory,

I love Monokai! Unfortunately, I can’t find a Vim Monokai theme that works in Command Prompt. I’ve tried four different Monokai-likes, and I’ve tried adding “set t_Co=256″, to no avail.
